Delete your account
You can delete your myHab.Fit account and its associated cloud data. This page explains how to request deletion, which local data is cleared, and what remains.
If you still have the app
You will need an internet connection. Keep the app open until it confirms that deletion is complete.
- Open myHab.Fit
- Go to Settings, then Subscription & account
- Tap Delete account
- Confirm deletion. If asked, sign in again with the same Google account to verify it is you.
Wait for the message confirming that your account is deleted. If the app reports a failure, follow its retry instructions; part of the deletion may already have completed. Deleted data cannot be recovered.
If you have already uninstalled, or cannot sign in
You can request deletion by email without reinstalling the app.
Please send it from the email address of the Google account you used to sign in, and write "Account deletion request" in the subject. We will reply to verify ownership before deleting the account. If you cannot access that address, contact us to discuss another way to verify ownership. Do not send your password, sign-in codes or payment details.
We will confirm when it is done, and in any case within one month of receiving your request.
What is deleted
| Deleted | Detail |
|---|---|
| Your cloud record | Your account ID, the agreements and choices you made with their dates, your subscription record, and your Google Drive backup key |
| Your Google Drive backup | The encrypted backup file in your Drive, when the app has access to it. Once the key above is deleted, any copy that could not be removed can no longer be opened. |
| Your purchase token | The raw Google Play purchase token our server kept. A scrambled form and its status are kept with no link to you, so later notices from Google Play about that purchase are still recognised. |
| Your myHab.Fit sign-in record | The Firebase Authentication record for this app, including its Google-provided email, name and profile photo link. Your Google account itself is not deleted. |
| Local myHab.Fit data on the phone where you delete in-app | Everything the app keeps on that phone is cleared, including your profile, workout history, personal bests, streak, body weights, cycle and symptom logs, water and fasting logs, daily signals, injury flags, recovery history, progression, preferences and camera calibration. An email request cannot remotely clear these stores. |
What is not deleted, and why
We would rather tell you this now than have you find out later.
- Workouts we wrote into Health Connect stay there. These are in your phone's own health store, not ours. Other apps may already have read them. You can remove them yourself in the Health Connect app. We leave them because they are part of your own health record.
- Your subscription is not automatically cancelled. If you have a Google Play subscription, cancel it separately in Google Play subscription settings to stop future renewals. A subscription you are still paying for cannot be moved to a new account. You can request account deletion whether or not you have already cancelled.
- Data on another phone is not wiped remotely. Opening the app there does not guarantee that its local data is erased. Uninstall myHab.Fit or clear its storage in Android settings on every other device to remove those local copies. The same applies to any phone still holding local data after an email deletion request.
- Analytics and crash reports already sent are not recalled by account deletion. They use installation identifiers rather than your myHab.Fit account ID. Analytics is retained under the Google Analytics retention settings described in our Privacy Policy. Google states that Crashlytics keeps crash reports and associated identifiers for 90 days before starting removal from its live and backup systems; see Firebase’s retention information.
- Your phone’s encrypted backup is replaced at its next run, usually within a day. If you delete in the app, keep it installed until then, or remove the app’s backup yourself in your phone’s backup settings.
- Copies you saved or shared elsewhere remain there. This includes files saved with Download my data, exported images, and copies held by other apps or recipients. Remove those separately where you can.
Deleting only some things
You do not have to delete everything. From Settings you can separately delete all your cycle data (under Cycle tracking), or reset your camera calibration, leaving the rest of your account intact.
To have other data deleted while keeping your account (your Google Drive backup key, for example), email contactus@myhab.fit from the email address of your Google sign-in, with "Data deletion request" in the subject, and say what you want deleted. We will reply to verify it is you, and confirm within one month.
